News Article: Car Accident on Federal Highway 7 Near Hotteln

On September 2, 2025, a car accident occurred on federal highway 7 near Hotteln, involving two cars and a truck. The exact condition of the driver of the truck involved in the accident is not known.

Upon arrival, customs officers found two crashed cars, one slightly injured occupant, and a civilian first aider. No further details about the injured occupant or the civilian first aider were provided. The customs officers immediately blocked the right lane, made an emergency call, and initiated first aid for one of the drivers.

A doctor and two ambulances arrived later at the accident site, followed by four fire engines and the highway police. The arrival of these services completely blocked federal highway 7 for a short time. A total of 20 emergency services were on duty at the accident scene.

A bomb disposal unit arrived shortly afterwards and took care of the driver of the other crashed vehicle. The customs officer provided first aid on the scene of the accident. Almost two hours after the arrival of the customs officers, the first lane of the highway was reopened again.

The Main Customs Office of Brunswick did not release any information about the impact of the accident on customs operations. The cause of the accident is presumed to be an unsuccessful lane change and inappropriate speed. The investigation into the accident remains ongoing by the authorities.

The customs officer and the customs officer from the Financial Control of Illegal Work at the Hildesheim site of the Main Customs Office of Brunswick returned to Hildesheim from Hannover following the incident.

The exact condition of the drivers and the passengers involved in the accident remains unknown at this time. The public is reminded to drive safely and responsibly to prevent such accidents from happening.
