Amanda Kloots Redefines Strength with The Strength Shift Campaign

Amanda Kloots, a renowned dancer, fitness instructor, and co-host of The Talk, is challenging traditional views of strength with her new campaign, The Strength Shift. This initiative aims to redefine what it means to be strong by emphasizing resilience, recovery, and listening to your body's pain signals rather than pushing through pain.

Kloots, who has teamed up with Advil, is encouraging a shift towards strength that includes recovery and self-care as essential components. This approach contrasts with the traditional notions of strength, which often focus on pushing limits, enduring pain, or working through injury.

The campaign encourages building strength through mindful, low-impact exercises that support healing and endurance without ignoring or forcing through discomfort. Kloots' own experience with injury and recovery reflects this approach, highlighting that staying active while respecting pain and recovery fosters lasting strength rather than risking further harm.

In addition to her campaign, Kloots also schedules one day off a week for recovery, usually Sundays. She emphasizes that strength should be about acknowledging pain and shifting activities accordingly. Kloots uses methods like sauna and cold plunge for recovery, and her varied physical activity routine includes tennis, boxing, dance, jump roping, and other cardio.

Recovery is an essential part of the stress-and-recovery cycle in getting stronger, particularly in activities like weight lifting. It allows micro-tears in muscles to heal, leading to potential muscle growth and strength gains. Interestingly, only 30% of Americans take at least one full rest day per week, according to UCLA Health.

Kloots' approach is particularly relevant for new mothers. In the U.S., about 32.3% of all births are by Cesarean sections, according to the CDC. Recovery from a C-section typically takes from four to six weeks, as indicated by the Cleveland Clinic website. Kloots, who became a mother through a C-section, has developed a resilience-building workout as part of The Strength Shift that is suitable for postpartum recovery.

Kloots' commitment to fitness extends beyond The Strength Shift. In January 2025, she launched a supplement company called Proper Health. She continues to inspire her fans and followers with her dedication to health, fitness, and self-care.

In the coming January, Kloots will also be featured in a reality TV show. Her journey with The Strength Shift is sure to be an inspiring part of this new venture. With The Strength Shift, Kloots is not just redefining strength; she is empowering others to do the same.
