Barbie is set to release a new doll model, featuring Venus Williams, as part of its Inspiring Women series.
In a celebration of tennis great Venus Williams, Mattel has unveiled a new Barbie doll, marking her historic Wimbledon victory and her advocacy for pay equity. The Venus Williams Barbie doll is part of Barbie's Inspiring Women collection and will be released on August 15, 2025.
The doll is designed to resemble Williams in her iconic all-white outfit, which she wore while winning her sixth Grand Slam singles title at Wimbledon in 2007. This victory was significant as it marked the first time a woman received equal prize money as the men at a top-level tournament.
The doll features a green gem necklace, wristband, tennis racket, and tennis ball, all elements that add to its authenticity. It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and a stand, as the doll cannot stand alone. The doll's face sculpt is a likeness of Venus Williams, and it has a "Made to Move Tall" body type.
The suggested retail price for the Venus Williams Barbie doll is $38. It will be available at Mattel Creations, major retailers like Target, Walmart, and Amazon, with a special early sale for Barbie Club 59 members.
This release is part of Barbie's 65th anniversary celebration, where nine trailblazing female athletes were featured in a special collection. The Venus Williams Barbie doll is a testament to her inspiring journey and her contributions to the world of tennis and gender equality.
