Boy's mother suspects her 13-year-old son, who tragically drowned after being pushed off a pier, may have been a victim of bullying
A 13-year-old boy named Jakob Bowerman tragically lost his life over the weekend after drowning in Wisconsin. Jakob's mother, Taylor Singer, is speaking out about the incident that took place at Government Pier in Marinette.
According to the police, two suspects have been named in connection with Jakob's death. These include a 23-year-old local resident and another individual involved in the incident at Government Pier. However, the identities of the two suspects have not yet been disclosed by the police.
Singer described the distressing sight of Jakob on life support in St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. Jakob was afraid of deep water and did not know how to swim. Camera footage shows Jakob being pushed into the Menominee River by a 16-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man.
Jakob's death occurred last Wednesday afternoon. Singer believes Jakob was killed as a result of being bullied by the two individuals who pushed him into the water. She stated that Jakob had been bullied his whole life due to having autism.
Singer wants to prevent similar tragedies from happening to other families and believes no child deserves to be bullied. She emphasises the importance of kindness and respect towards others, especially towards children. Singer wants to share her story to spread an important message.
Two individuals, a 16-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man, could face charges in connection to Jakob's death. Police showed up at Singer's house last Wednesday to inform her about an incident involving her son at Government Pier.
Jakob was on life support for several days before he died on Saturday night. Singer is calling for action to be taken to address bullying and to ensure that no other family has to endure the pain and loss that she has experienced.
This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of treating others with kindness and respect, especially towards vulnerable individuals like Jakob. Our thoughts are with Jakob's family and friends during this difficult time.
