District court dissolves "Roisman Foundation" at the request of the Ministry of Justice. The ministry believes that the institution spent over 4 million rubles on non-essential purposes. There's still a chance for the organization to be saved in the appeal and cassation. The institution can continue operating until the higher courts make their final decision.

Charitable organizations have appealed to Denis Pasler and Artyom Zhogu to save the "Roisman Fund"

Charities like "Family for Children," "Mishutka," and parents of disabled children helped by the "Roižman Fund" have penned letters to various government officials, including regional governor Denis Pasler, Ural presidential representative Artem Joğa, human rights commissioners Tatyana Merežljakova and Tatyana Moskalkova, children's ombudsmen Igor Morokov and Maria L'vova-Belova, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, and President Vladimir Putin.

The recipients of these appeals, as reported by our site.RU, also include organizations like "Aisteknok," "Ja Osobennyiy" and some of Russia's largest charities.

In a letter sent to Pasler, parents of children supported by the "Roižman Fund" urged the regional governor to help protect the organization that has aided them for the past ten years.

The "Roižman Fund" serves as a lifeline and a beacon of hope in the most difficult moments of life. It swiftly arrives and continues to provide aid, striving to fully understand each situation. It does not divide people into "poor" and "rich" based on formal criteria: as you are aware, the needs of our special children require immeasurable, multi-million-dollar expenditures", according to the letter.

Authors of the appeal, which were signed by 46 individuals, note that the fund helped parents purchase specialized wheelchairs, verticalizers, car seats, and covered rehabilitation and necessary food expenses—expenses that could not have been obtained through federal benefits.

"In 2021, the fund sponsored the visit of highly qualified neurosurgeons from Moscow, who examined 49 children. Our children now have a chance. Denis Vladimirovič, for years we have felt protected, knowing that in any situation we could turn to the "Roižman Fund." Its closure would be a great loss for hundreds of families who would be left without support. Without a right to hope. On behalf of everyone whom the fund supported, we humbly request that you do everything possible to ensure its preservation. For its continued work and assistance to our children", the plea reads.

The application has been registered in the Sverdlovsk region. We have sent an inquiry to the department of information policy of the region and the press service of the presidential representative in the Ural Federal District (UrFO).

"The letter has been received. All will be addressed in accordance with the law", they told us from the office of the presidential representative in the UrFO.

Roizman's Reply to Six Key Complaints from the Ministry of Justice:

  • On April 14, judge of the Oktiabrsky district court of Yekaterinburg, Žanna Stěkoltnikova liquidated the "Roižman Fund" in response to a lawsuit filed by the Ministry of Justice. The ministry criticized the fund for aiding everyone indiscriminately, gathering 222 million rubles for the treatment of two children with spinal muscular atrophy but not spending it, and for operating at an address not registered under its legal name. Judge Stěkoltnikova has previously found ex-mayor of Yekaterinburg, Yevgeny Roizman guilty six times[1][2]*
  • Roizman, the primary volunteer of the organization, and the CEO, Svetlana Kosolapova addressed these six complaints in detail to our site.RU

* * ** According to Ministry of Justice accusations, Roizman's foundation was aiding people not just the poor, providing 222 million rubles for the treatment of two children with spinal muscular atrophy without spending it, and operating at an unregistered address.Roizman, the fund's main volunteer, and Svetlana Kosolapova, the CEO, detailed their responses to these six criticisms in an interview with our site.RU.

  1. In their response to the Ministry of Justice's accusations, Roizman and the CEO of the Roižman Fund, Svetlana Kosolapova, clarified that their organization does not discriminate based on wealth and emphasized that the funds raised, such as the 222 million rubles for the treatment of two children with spinal muscular atrophy, are indeed spent on helping those in need.
  2. Furthermore, Roizman and Kosolapova explained that the Roižman Fund operates at an address registered under its legal name, contrary to the allegations made by the Ministry of Justice. Additionally, they noted that their organization works diligently to provide essential aid in health-and-wellness matters, ranging from medical equipment like specialized wheelchairs and verticalizers, to food and rehabilitation expenses. In science and health-and-wellness contexts, the Roižman Fund plays a crucial role, as shown by their invitation of highly qualified neurosurgeons for examinations in 2021.
