"City Initiates 'Healthy Schools' Project in Collaboration with Partners: Venture Into Civic Cube Arena"
In the city of Halle (Saale), a new initiative called the "Movement Heroes" project is set to begin at three schools – the Free Primary School "Friedemann Bach Halle", Primary School "Ulrich von Hutten", and Special School "Christian-Gotthilf-Salzmann" – on the commencement of the new school year. This project, a collaboration between the city and other partners, aims to promote school health by integrating movement into daily school life, enhancing physical and mental health, and positively impacting social skills and learning performance.
The public kick-off for the project is scheduled for August 15, 2025, from 10 to 12 am, on the Cube Lawn. The event offers a varied hands-on program focused on health-related activities, including interactive stations such as a movement parcours, health quiz, memory game, fruit skewer creation, and a "Relaxation Island" with stories and imagination journeys.
The project is funded by the city of Halle (Saale) and the GKV alliance for health in Saxony-Anhalt. It is also supported by various organisations, including the accident insurance company of Saxony-Anhalt, the consumer center of Saxony-Anhalt e.V., the USV Halle e.V., the GP Günter Papenburg AG, and dm-drogerie market. The municipal Department of Health oversees and evaluates the project, while the SV Halle e.V. designs age-appropriate movement offers with sports pedagogical expertise.
Teachers are trained as part of the project, and parents are actively involved through workshops and family afternoons. The event, known as an action day, features the "Right to Health" station of the existing "Children's Rights Learning Path", where children can learn about movement, nutrition, and relaxation in a playful manner.
Children from surrounding daycare centers, families, and all interested citizens are invited to participate in the event. However, it appears that either the "Movement Heroes" project is not publicly documented in available sources for 2025 or it goes by a different name or is underreported online. Additional direct inquiries to local Halle education authorities, project organizers, or relevant municipal departments might be necessary to obtain details on evaluation, funding, and participating schools.
The "Movement Heroes" project places particular emphasis on promoting health-conscious behaviors, reducing excessive screen time, and facilitating access to organized sports. By fostering a culture of physical activity and wellness in schools, this project seeks to create a healthier and more engaged generation of students in Halle (Saale).
Students at the Free Primary School "Friedemann Bach Halle", Primary School "Ulrich von Hutten", and Special School "Christian-Gotthilf-Salzmann" in Halle (Saale) will benefit from the integration of science, health-and-wellness, and fitness-and-exercise into their daily school routine through the "Movement Heroes" project. This initiative aims to enhance not only physical health but also mental well-being and social skills, contributing to improved learning performance.
