Clinic in Solingen launches awareness drive for early detection of breast cancer
Next week, the Bergisches Breast Center Solingen is hosting an informative event on breast cancer screening at the Municipal Hospital Solingen. The event, titled "Breast cancer - Early detection is key", will take place in conference room 3 on the ground floor of the hospital, located at Gotenstraße 1, Solingen.
Dr. med. Manuela Seifert, head of the breast clinic and an experienced expert in this field, will deliver a comprehensive lecture. The focus will be on current examination methods, including mammography, ultrasound, and possibly newer techniques used in breast cancer diagnosis.
Visitors can discuss personal concerns, fears, and uncertainties related to breast cancer with Dr. Seifert. The lecture will emphasise the importance of early detection in successful breast cancer treatment.
The event will also cover the technique of self-examination for breast cancer detection. Participants can learn or improve self-examination techniques during the practical part of the event.
Admission to the event is free, and it takes place from 5:00 PM to approximately 7:00 PM. The event provides space for individual questions and personal consultations. Dr. Seifert will also discuss individualized therapy approaches tailored to the specific needs and disease pictures of the patients.
The course of treatment in the event of a breast cancer disease will be presented, covering operations, radiation, chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and immunological approaches. The event offers a touch seminar for self-examination technique guidance.
Early detection through regular screening mammograms substantially improves the likelihood of identifying breast cancer before symptoms appear, leading to earlier intervention and higher survival rates. Mammography remains the standard for population-wide screening, while ultrasound and MRI are used selectively based on individual risk factors or breast density.
We encourage everyone, whether affected by breast cancer or simply interested in learning about modern breast cancer diagnosis and therapy, to attend this informative event. Let's work together towards early detection and successful treatment of breast cancer.
