Community Health System Opens Revamped Burnett Center for Long-Term Care in Fresno

Community Health System has opened the revamped Burnett Extended Care Center in Downtown Fresno, offering improved long-term care and recovery facilities for valley patients. The $35 million center features a range of amenities and is set to admit its first patients this fall.

The center boasts three gyms and therapy spaces to aid patient recovery, along with a beauty shop for added comfort. It has 150 beds in total, with half dedicated to long-term specialized care. The facility is expected to provide better access to long-term care and recovery rooms for valley patients.

The center's director, Leslie Cotham, envisions it as a place for patients to recuperate and regain their independence. Hiring is currently underway, with around 50 staff already on board and plans to recruit up to 200 more, including housekeeping, nurses, and administration personnel. Despite extensive searches, no public information has been found regarding the exact date of the center's official patient admission.

The Burnett Extended Care Center's opening marks a significant step in enhancing long-term care options for Fresno residents. With its state-of-the-art facilities and dedicated staff, the center is poised to support patients in their recovery journey, with admissions set to begin this fall.
