Death Announcement: Irene Bono Brownell
Irene Bono Brownell, a beloved resident of San Jose, passed away on July 15, 2025, at the age of 92. A Celebration of Life will be held in her honour on August 19, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church in San Jose, CA.
Born on January 9, 1933, in South San Francisco, Irene spent her formative years in the area before moving to San Jose in 1960. She graduated from South San Francisco High School in 1950.
Irene's professional journey began at Pen Lithograph, where she honed her skills as a bookkeeper. Her passion for finance later led her to O'Conner Hospital, where she nurtured her career. A significant milestone in her career was her appointment as the CEO and CFO of FSC Credit Union.
Irene was married to Jack at All Souls Parish on February 10, 1952. The couple was blessed with three children: Marc and wife Patty, Suzanne and husband Wayne, and Jeffery. Irene was also a proud grandmother to James and wife Sarah, Christine, Savannah, and Jonathan. She had three great grandchildren as well.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband Jack. A private interment will take place the day after the Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Humane Society of Silicon Valley.
