Discussing Sexual Health among the Youth: "Open Dialogue on Intimate Wellbeing!"
On September 18, 2025, the Women's Health working group is hosting a conference in Herford, Germany. The event, scheduled to take place at the Herford County Administration Building (Amtshausstraße 3, 32051 Herford), is a full-day affair starting at 8:30 AM and aims to address the topic of sexuality in daily school life.
The conference is open to educators, school social workers, and other professionals working with young people. Participation in this event is free, and registration can be done via the specified website (gleichstellung@unser website).
The conference programme covers a wide range of topics, including the basics of sexual education, dealing with digital risks, and medical focuses such as endometriosis. Around two million women in Germany suffer from endometriosis, a chronic condition that often begins in adolescence.
Expert speakers from gynecology, diakonisches Werk, pro familia, the county health department, and school social work will provide practical insights and guidance. The conference also emphasises networking, encouraging educators and school social workers to engage with counseling services and each other.
Unfortunately, the search results do not provide specific names of the expert speakers attending the conference. However, attendees can expect to gain valuable knowledge and resources to better support young people's sexual health.
It's worth noting that almost a third of young people report being unintentionally exposed to sexual content online. Additionally, there are 300,000 new Chlamydia infections nationwide each year, with young people and young adults being particularly affected.
The detailed conference programme can be requested from the Herford County Equal Opportunities Office. This conference promises to be an invaluable resource for professionals working with young people, providing them with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the complexities of sexual health in today's digital age.
