Enhanced Bike Riding: Ensuring Safety

On Monday, September 15, 2025, at 2 PM, the cycling tour 'Experience Safety' will take place in Nordhorn, Germany. This event, organised in cooperation with the city's equal opportunities officer Anja Milewski, police officer Joerg Reurik, and chief commissioner Uwe van der Heiden from the prevention team of Nordhorn police station, aims to promote traffic safety and crime prevention.

The starting point of the tour will be the Nordhorn police station at Wietmarscher Straße 4. Registrations can be made by email to anja.milewski@our website or by phone at 05921 878-237. Participants are asked to register by September 12, 2025.

The approximately three to four-hour long tour will take cyclists through places with a high fear of crime or uncertainty in traffic. Urban safety will be a key topic during the tour, with expert explanations on safe cycling and various theft protection options being provided. Challenging traffic situations will also be discussed.

Anja Milewski will provide tips and information specifically for women, such as self-assertion or counseling options in Nordhorn. The cooperation continues the successful offer 'Experience Safety', and this year, the tour is being held exclusively for women.

Participation in the tour is free, and participants are asked to bring their own drinks and wear a bicycle helmet. For further dates for 'Experience Safety' (not exclusively for women), please visit the website.

Organisations addressing women's safety needs, such as TERRE DES FEMMES, which combats human rights violations against girls and women globally and runs projects like 'Mit Sicherheit Teilhabe: Frauen stärken – Zukunft gestalten' focusing on violence protection and participation for refugee women, are also involved in the event.

The cycling tour 'Experience Safety' is an excellent opportunity for women to gain knowledge and skills to ensure their safety while cycling in the city. So, mark your calendars for September 15, 2025, and join this informative and empowering event!
