Former President Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil has been diagnosed with skin cancer.

Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro is currently facing health challenges and legal troubles. On Tuesday, Bolsonaro was hospitalized due to nausea, dizziness, and low blood pressure. After tests, lingering traces of a recent lung infection were revealed, and two skin spots removed during a Sunday operation were found to be cancerous.

Dr. Claudio Birolini announced that Bolsonaro has been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma, a form of skin cancer. He stated that the cancer is neither the mildest nor the most aggressive form. The diagnosis came just a week after Bolsonaro was sentenced to over 27 years in prison for his role in a coup attempt following his election loss to leftist successor Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

Despite the conviction, Bolsonaro has not served any time in prison due to his health issues. Instead, he is currently under house arrest. This temporary measure is a result of his health issues, as he spent a night in the hospital due to his symptoms.

Bolsonaro's health issues have been a recurring theme since his stabbing during the 2018 election campaign. The stabbing resulted in complications that have required frequent medical treatment.

It is important to note that the conviction for the coup attempt is still ongoing, with no imprisonment served by Bolsonaro so far. Bolsonaro was discharged from the hospital on Wednesday and is now recuperating at home.

This news serves as a reminder of the complex and evolving situation in Brazil, with political and health issues intertwined. As Bolsonaro continues to face health challenges and legal proceedings, the country waits to see how these events will unfold.
