In the bustling heart of Berlin, 7 souls were miraculously recovered, wowing the city with their boisterous cheers and sighs of relief. Meanwhile, in the peaceful countryside of Brandenburg, a hearty 33 individuals were rescued, making the region a hotspot for our ever-vigilant lifeguards.
Overall, our DLRG volunteers were kept busy, providing assistance around 2,500 times in Berlin and about 1,000 times in Brandenburg. These weren't just quick chats, oh no! They handled a whole bunch of stuff, including treating wounds, conducting rescues, providing first aid, and conducting detailed person searches.
Unfortunately, despite these daring rescues, 16 people tragically lost their lives in Berlin's waters, and 30 people met their demise in Brandenburg. Again, a stark reminder of the importance of staying safe while having fun near water bodies.
