From Красноярsky "Svetofory," officials seized hundreds of kilograms of questionable meat and fish
Uncovering Falsified Foods in Krasnoyarsk Krai: A Blight on 'Светофор'
Things just keep heating up for the 'Светофор' retail chain in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia. The latest round of inspections, this time spearheaded by Rosselkhoznadzor, has uncovered a trove of faux foods.
These surprise checks, coordinated with the regional prosecutor's office, revealed numerous violations of veterinary requirements and Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) legislation, including, but not limited to, the circulation of expired and unlabeled food products and the receipt of products without veterinary supporting documents.
For instance, at a store on Kansk's ul. Energetikov, inspectors seized 322.2 kg of meat and fish, as well as 75 cartons of eggs. Another location on ul. Moskovskaya yielded 63.2 kg of beef and fish products, along with 144 cartons of chicken eggs. And in Krasnoyarsk, stores on Kalinin Avenue handed over 100 kg of goods for examination.
In addition, lab tests revealed that the mozzarella cheese and "МОСКВОРЕЦКИЕ" pickles being sold at a store on ul. Moskovskaya in Yemelyanovo were fakes, manufactured by OOO "Slivochnaya Strana" and OOO "Raskolbas", respectively.
The results of these tests have been shared with all stores within the 'Светофор' network, along with their suppliers and manufacturers. The counterfeit items have been pulled from shelves.
Administrative cases have been lodged for these violations, and producers of the tainted goods may also face unscheduled inspections.
Just last February, Rosselkhoznadzor had already conducted checks on 'Светофоров' in Krasnoyarsk Krai, discovering similar violations.
To add fuel to the fire, a report emerged that certain retailers in Moscow were temporarily shutting down due to violations of sanitary and epidemiological well-being regulations for the populace.
