Health Trains to Boost Nizhny Novgorod's Healthcare in October 2025
The 'Health Trains' project, initiated in 2018, is set to commence operations in the Bor district of the Nizhny Novgorod region in October 2025. This mobile healthcare initiative aims to improve access to preventive examinations and enhance the region's health infrastructure as part of the 'Long and Active Life' national project.
Since its inception, the 'Health Trains' project has conducted over 113,400 various tests, including fluorographies, electrocardiograms, and general clinical laboratory tests. These examinations have led to the identification of over 6,300 diseases, with 91 cases of malignant neoplasms detected. The project has also resulted in over 54,500 consultations with specialists and the referral of 22,600 people to medical institutions, with 930 patients requiring hospitalization.
The 'Health Trains' are staffed by a team of specialists, including therapists, cardiologists, neurologists, and more. They will operate in different municipal districts and urban areas from September 29 to October 30, providing residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region with the opportunity to undergo preventive examinations. The project is part of the 'Long and Active Life' national project, which aims to increase life expectancy by 2030 through various medical improvements and digitalization. This project encompasses 11 federal projects focusing on different aspects of healthcare.
