The 18-year-old suspect, who was defending his brother, a peer of the victim, was armed with a switchblade that he carried in his fanny pack.
The 15-year-old victim was rushed to the Santa Maria delle Grazie Hospital in Pozzuoli with a liver perforation. He reportedly asked, "What did you do, you stabbed me?" before being taken to the hospital. Despite undergoing surgery, the victim remains in critical condition under reserved prognosis.
The 18-year-old suspect, who has no criminal record, handed over his blood-stained clothes to the military in front of his mother. He cooperated with the carabinieri and showed them where he claimed to have thrown the weapon, but it was not found.
The Naples Nord prosecutor, Giuseppe Vitolo, requested the arrest of the 18-year-old suspect. He is currently held in custody awaiting trial. The suspect wore a Napoli soccer jersey and black shorts during the incident.
