As Indo-Pakistan tensions escalate, India remains on high alert, with sporadic blackouts and the relentless wailing of sirens echoing across the nation. A day after Pakistan's military provocation, it has once again flouted the ceasefire along the LoC, with explosions and gunshots reported in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri sector.
The authorities of both these Delhi-based hospitals have issued circulars mandating all medical staff to abandon their vacation plans. According to the circular, dated May 9, 2025, issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, "given the current situation and the need for an emergency response system, it has been decided that no leaves of any kind, whether station leave or otherwise, will be granted to any staff members, regular or outsourced, until further notice. This applies to leaves already taken or pending approval."
The circular adds, "Further, the leaves already sanctioned, if any, are hereby revoked, and the staff members on leave are directed to report back to their duties forthwith. All controlling officers are advised to ensure strict compliance of these instructions."

The directive has been endorsed by the heads of both the hospitals.
This emergency preparation by hospitals in Delhi is not unprecedented. Given the ongoing Indo-Pakistani conflict and the heightened tensions after Pakistan's repeated ceasefire violations, such precautions are essential. On Friday evening, Pakistan violated the ceasefire, with explosions reported in Uri, Samba, Pathankot, and other areas as it unleashed its heavy artillery and other munitions. Drones were also spotted.
