Kazakhstan's Life Expectancy to Hit 75.8 Years by 2025
Kazakhstan's healthcare is making significant strides. The country's life expectancy is projected to reach 75.8 years by 2025, the highest in Central Asia. This follows the introduction of the Compulsory Social Health Insurance (CSHI) and a decrease in overall mortality.
The CSHI has brought about notable improvements. Infant mortality has dropped from 7.93 to 6.8 per 1,000 live births. Maternal mortality has also decreased, from 14.8 to 10.1 per 100,000 live births. Over 300,000 uninsured citizens gained access to cancer screenings in 2025. In 2026, they will also benefit from screenings for cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and viral hepatitis.
Systemic reforms and increased financial support have driven these positive trends. Overall mortality decreased by 3% in the first half of 2025. Kazakhstan's life expectancy stands at 75.4 years, leading the region.
Kazakhstan's healthcare sector is transforming. The Compulsory Social Health Insurance has opened doors to better healthcare outcomes. As a result, life expectancy is rising, and mortality rates are falling. The country continues to expand access to screenings, further boosting healthcare prospects.
