Komi Republic Reports Spike in Flu and ARI Cases, Non-Flu Respiratory Viruses Detected
In the Komi Republic, the Research Institute of Influenza's Komi branch has been studying influenza and respiratory diseases. This week, they reported a significant number of cases and findings.
From September 22 to 28, a total of 8511 people, including 3459 children, sought medical help for flu and ARI symptoms. Among them, 3303 were children. This week, the number increased to 6947 people seeking help for ARI symptoms from September 29 to October 5.
The institute also registered 85 cases of community-acquired pneumonia, with 14 among children under 17. Notably, they found non-flu respiratory viruses in patient samples, with an incidence rate of 26.7% below the threshold.
The Komi branch of the Research Institute of Influenza continues to monitor influenza and respiratory diseases in the region. Despite the detection of non-flu respiratory viruses, the incidence rate remains below the threshold. The institute will continue to study and report on these diseases to aid in public health management.
