LifeSciKY appoints Amelia Wares as Executive Operations Fellow and Assistant to the Executive Director
LifeSciKY Opens Doors to Life Sciences Startups in Northern Kentucky
LifeSciKY, a nonprofit lab incubator, is set to empower the next generation of life sciences talent in Northern Kentucky. The organization, which aims to foster innovation and growth, has hired Amelia Wares as its executive operations fellow [1][2].
Located in the OneNKY Center in Covington, LifeSciKY's 15,000-square-foot facility offers essential resources to early-stage life sciences companies [1]. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and will provide access to affordable labs, filling a critical gap in the region [1][3][4].
Amelia Wares, a biomedical engineering student at the University of Cincinnati, brings a wealth of experience to LifeSciKY. She has a background in clinical research and medical device startups, and is the founder of TissuTrak, a digital health app designed to support people managing chronic illness [2].
Dr. Christin Godale, LifeSciKY's Executive Director, expressed enthusiasm about Wares joining the team. Wares will assist with day-to-day operations, high-level strategy, and community engagement [2]. She will also serve as a trusted resource for Lab Residents at LifeSciKY, helping to support emerging biotech talent.
LifeSciKY's mission is to build a life sciences ecosystem centered around science, camaraderie, and collaboration. The organization encourages networking, mentorship, and collaboration among resident startups, researchers, and partners to accelerate company growth and innovation on a regional and global scale [1].
Northern Kentucky is quickly becoming a dynamic hub for innovation, with LifeSciKY and nearby SparkHaus contributing to this. The region is committed to supporting life sciences startups, and LifeSciKY's Covington-based facility will play a crucial role in this endeavour [5].
LifeSciKY is preparing to welcome its first lab residents to its Covington-based facility later this year. To learn more about LifeSciKY or to apply for Lab Residency, visit LifeSciKY.com [6].
