Man Dies Two Weeks After E-Scooter Collision in Edmonton
A 49-year-old man has sadly passed away two weeks after being involved in a serious collision while riding his personal electric scooter in Edmonton's Parkdale neighbourhood. The incident occurred on the evening of September 24.
The man was initially taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and remained there until he succumbed to his injuries on Monday. The collision happened as the man was driving his electric scooter north on 82 Street and attempted to make a left turn onto 115 Avenue. He was first struck by an Infiniti G37, then thrown from the scooter and hit by a southbound Chrysler 200. It's important to note that personal electric scooters are not permitted on roadways in Edmonton, as they are classified as off-highway vehicles under the Traffic Safety Act.
