Embrace the return to the classroom, medical students! President Rodrigo Duterte has given the green light for medical schools and allied health science programs to hold limited physical classes. But don't get too excited just yet - not all schools in the Philippines will reopen their doors.
According to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), these schools will need to retrofit their facilities to ensure they're COVID-safe for students. CHED Chairman Prospero de Vera III shared that schools under general community quarantine (GCQ) must coordinate with their local government units (LGUs) for approval to reopen. The authorities want to make sure the country is stockpiled with doctors as it battles the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
