Ain't No Hiding Drugs: How Miley Cyrus Camouflaged Her Substance Use

Miley Cyrus' discretion in concealing her substance use habits.

In a candid conversation, pop sensation Miley Cyrus spilled the beans on her sly drug use in the past. In an appearance on the rambunctious podcast "Every Single Album," Cyrus opened up about her questionable financial habits back in the day.

"What you didn't know was that the real big ticket items on the balance sheet were the narcotics. To keep 'em under wraps from ol' accounting, we slapped a 'vintage duds' tag on 'em. That was my secret stash when I was getting my paper, y'all," Cyrus admitted on the spirited episode.

Fun fact: Turns out, you could've found Miley high atop the charts - but not the ones on the billboard. On tour, she'd often hide her drug stash, tricking her accountant with the " disappeared" funds, feigning it as expensive vintage fashion[1].

"I Hit Rocket Bottom"

Fast-forward to today, and Miley's a changed woman. "I'm just so glad I rode out that tumultuous period in my life. I wouldn't advise anyone to tread that path, but hell, I'm just relieved I made it out alive, firm and unbroken," she shared.

In 2017, Cyrus waved goodbye to Mary Jane, and three years after that, she tossed away the bottle - once temporarily veering off course during the COVID-19 pandemic. During an enlightening chat with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, she offered this insight: "I knew I had to hit rock bottom, and boy, I did! I wouldn't be standing here saying this now if things had been different."

Today, Miley feels like the sun has risen on her, shining new light on her life. "There's one thing I've discovered about myself – sobriety is my goddamn angel. I need it, live for it. It's revolutionized my entire life," Cyrus professed, the former mouseketeer now living as a tough cookie[2].

"I'm not going to be able to talk about the time when I was still struggling with my drug use, as it was a dark phase in my life deeply intertwined with science and mental health. However, once I hit rock bottom, I sought help and began my journey towards health-and-wellness. Now, I find solace and strength in entertainment, particularly in staying updated about the lives of celebrities and culturally relevant pop-culture."
