Mobile health services expansion: Collaboration of Truhome Finance, Utthaan, and DocOnline initiates mobile screening camps in villages across Rajasthan
In a significant move to improve healthcare access in rural and underserved areas, Truhome Finance Limited, Utthaan NGO, and DocOnline have announced plans to conduct around 80 mobile health camps across several districts of Rajasthan.
Truhome Finance Limited, a leading affordable housing finance company with an Assets Under Management (AUM) of over INR 19500 Cr, has been rated AA/Stable by CRISIL, India Ratings, and CARE. The company, which commenced operations in December 2011, has a branch network of over 180 branches across 16 states in India and a workforce of more than 4500 employees.
The "Screening the Unscreened" program, as the initiative is called, aims to provide preventive and primary healthcare services to underserved villages through a specially equipped Mobile Screening Van. Each van will be staffed with a dedicated medical team, including two phlebotomists, one doctor, one Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM), and one pharmacist. Following the tests, patients will receive doctor consultations for any symptoms or ongoing health issues, along with medications.
Truhome Finance, through its operations, focuses on providing home loans to individuals who face challenges in accessing formal credit, particularly small entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals. This initiative directly contributes to multiple United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Good Health & Wellbeing (SDG 3), Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).
DocOnline, a leading digital healthcare company dedicated to making quality primary care accessible and affordable in India, will integrate online medical consultations once the diagnostic reports are ready. This ensures that patients are guided through their care journey and no case is left incomplete. DocOnline offers digital consultations, mental health support, chronic care, and wellness services, serving over 7.8 million families across the country.
The mobile health camps will be set up in rural areas, cities with limited access, and suburban areas where access to healthcare services is limited. This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of these organisations to improving the quality of life for marginalised groups, including women, children, and remote rural populations.
In December 2024, Truhome Finance was acquired by Warburg Pincus. The company is registered with the National Housing Bank (NHB). For more detailed information about the 80 mobile health camp plans, it is recommended to contact the involved organisations or local health authorities directly.
