Operated Buckhead brothel leads to 5-year prison term for woman, according to the Department of Justice
Jamika Weese, a 42-year-old woman, has been sentenced to five years in federal prison following her guilty pleas for wire fraud, transporting an individual for the purpose of prostitution, and fraudulently obtaining Economic Injury and Disaster Loans and Paycheck Protection Program loans.
Weese's criminal activities came to light in 2017 when she operated a brothel from an apartment in Buckhead. The Fulton County Sheriff's Office raided the premises in 2019, uncovering evidence that Weese had been taking more than half of the women's earnings from the brothel.
In addition to her prison sentence, Weese was ordered to serve three years of supervised release after serving her prison term. She was also required to pay $69,000 in restitution and register as a sex offender.
Weese pleaded guilty to posting advertisements for the brothel online and arranging for women to travel to various states, including Arizona, Colorado, South Carolina, Texas, and Florida, for her own financial benefit.
However, Weese's criminal activities did not end with the closure of the brothel. In 2023, she was rearrested for fraudulently obtaining Economic Injury and Disaster Loans and a Paycheck Protection Program loan. As a result, the authorities responsible for monitoring sexual offenders were required to register Weese following her 2023 conviction.
Weese was initially arrested in 2019 but was released. She will now serve her prison sentence, followed by three years of supervised release, and will be required to register as a sex offender.
