UK-based health informatics company Alcidion bolsters its leadership with the appointment of a new Managing Director, Chief Clinical Information Officer, and Chief Revenue Officer.
Alcidion, a leading digital health company, has made significant strides in its UK operations with the appointment of three new members to its team. The new hires include Dr Paul Deffley as UK Managing Director, Tracy McClelland as the global Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO), and Darren Ransley as the Chief Revenue Officer (UK).
Dr Paul Deffley, who has been Alcidion's Chief Medical Officer since 2022, will now take on the additional role of UK Managing Director. His emphasis on the importance of having the clinician's viewpoint and built-in safety in digital solutions for health is expected to play a crucial role in Alcidion's UK strategy.
Darren Ransley, with over 25 years of experience in enterprise sales, growth, and strategy development in healthcare, is expected to expand Alcidion's reach across the UK and build on existing relationships in the market. He will lead business development and account management for Alcidion in the UK, supporting the NHS to realise its vision of a digital future.
Tracy McClelland, with 28 years of healthcare experience, joins Alcidion with a combination of frontline clinical expertise and senior leadership in digital transformation across the UK and Australia. Her clinical perspective is considered valuable for building software that improves patient outcomes and supports safe, efficient operations.
The appointments of Tracy McClelland and Darren Ransley complement the established capabilities of Alcidion's UK and global team. Their work, particularly in the North East of England, Greater Manchester, and the East of England, has identified these regions as key for Alcidion's growth in the UK.
The appointments come at a time of increased digitization of healthcare following the release of the NHS 10 Year plan. Alcidion's flagship platform, Miya Precision, continues to be adopted by a growing number of trusts, providing data interoperability and clinical workflow transformation.
Kate Quirke, CEO & Managing Director of Alcidion, expressed excitement about the current state of healthcare in the UK. She sees the appointments as crucial for supporting new and existing customers in achieving the new NHS goals. Both Tracy McClelland and Darren Ransley's appointments are seen as significant steps towards realising Alcidion's vision of improving patient care through digital innovation.
The new team members, Tracy McClelland and Darren Ransley, started working with Alcidion on September 1, 2025. With their expertise and experience, they are poised to make a significant impact on Alcidion's UK operations and the broader healthcare landscape.
